An opportunity has arisen in the East Midlands Cancer Alliance (EMCA) to join this dynamic, high profile and busy team. The post holder will support the Managing Director to lead and oversee the Finance, PMO & Business Support, Analytics, Communications & Engagement, Workforce, Inequalities, and Innovation functions to support the infrastructure and delivery of an efficient and effective Cancer Programme.
Main duties of the job
As Associate Director - Corporate, the post holder will support the Managing Director to lead and oversee dynamic team(s) supporting Finance, PMO & Business Support, Analytics, Communications & Engagement, Workforce, Inequalities and Innovation to deliver an efficient and effective service, managing the provision of strategic, financial, transformational, and operational management support, strategic quality improvement, leadership, assurance, and advisory services. The postholder will work with senior stakeholders across the health and social care system, NHS England directorates, national organisations, government departments, academic institutions and will support and lead teams to deliver significant programmes of work on behalf of the Managing Director. We are seeking an individual with significant experience in strategic leadership ideally within the NHS.

Communication and Relationship Skills
* Provide and receive highly complex/sensitive/ contentious information where there may be barriers to understanding that will need highly developed persuasion, negotiation, reassurance and empathy skills.
Knowledge, Training and Experience
* Masters degree or equivalent experience. Further specialist training or qualifications equivalent to PHD level. Evidence of CPD.
Analytical and Judgement Skills
* Highly Complex facts or situation that require analysis, interpretation and comparison to develop strategies, assist strategic objective and ensure team performance/delivery.
Planning and Organisational Skills
* Developing long term strategic plans for service improvement in new areas.
Responsibilities for policy and service deployment implementation
* Responsible for policy development and implementation across working area and/or organisation where appropriate.
Responsibilities for financial and physical resources
* Hold budgets for services, departments and major areas of activity i.e commissioning services.

* Responsible as line manager for several departments and/or service areas. Responsible for designing and delivering relevant training.
