Anderson Knight is currently recruiting a Supply Chain Manager in Edinburgh. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising the supply chain process from procurement to delivery, ensuring efficient production and distribution of goods. This includes managing supplier relationships, planning inventory, reducing costs, and improving customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and efficient delivery. The ideal candidate has a strong background in supply chain and logistics, with a data-driven approach to streamline processes and improve profitability. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Planning and Optimization Develop, implement, and oversee the overall supply chain strategy. Continuously improve supply chain processes, focusing on reducing costs, improving quality, and increasing efficiency. Conduct regular analysis to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and devise solutions to improve performance. 2. Inventory and Demand Planning Manage and monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels while minimising excess inventory. Collaborate with sales, production, and logistics teams to forecast demand and plan inventory accordingly. 3. Supplier and Vendor Management Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and minimise costs. Evaluate suppliers based on quality, delivery time, and cost-effectiveness, and conduct regular performance reviews. 4. Logistics and Distribution Oversee the distribution and logistics functions, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers. Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers as needed and oversee their performance. Ensure that warehousing, transportation, and logistics comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards. 5. Data Analysis and Reporting Collect and analyse supply chain data to inform strategic decisions. Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain metrics, such as delivery performance, cost savings, and supplier performance. Use analytics to make informed decisions regarding demand forecasting, inventory planning, and process improvements. 6. Team Leadership and Development Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain and logistics professionals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain team. Encourage cross-functional collaboration and communication to enhance team performance. 7. Risk Management and Compliance Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to sourcing, transportation, and international trade. Implement and monitor supply chain security measures to prevent loss and ensure continuity of supply. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
