The Role Do you want to lead digital campaigns that make a real difference to government policy? Inspire audiences to protest injustice? Change minds with the power of your content? Are you keen to work with senior politicians and business leaders at the heart of Westminster? At Best for Britain, we believe that when we change minds, we change politics for the better and we are looking for an energetic, confident and creative new Social Media Manager to join our team. We want you to act as Best for Britain's online voice, boosting our public profile, promoting our work and building support for our campaigns as we work to strengthen EU-UK ties and fix the problems Britain faces after Brexit. As a member of our agile digital team, you will work closely with the Director of Digital to deliver fresh, compelling and surprising campaigns, react to breaking news, and drive action from our supporters. This role will suit someone looking for their second job in social media or communications, and will give you the opportunity to put your stamp on Best for Britain's digital presence while affecting genuine change, as well as making career-defining contacts across Westminster. Recent members of the Best for Britain team have subsequently accepted senior roles with the BBC, Labour Party, Liberal Democrats, the Civil Service and the UK Government working with top Cabinet members. What are the key tasks? Research, source and produce content for the Best for Britain and UK Trade and Business Commission social media channels (X, Threads, Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Linkedin and YouTube) Generate videos, editorial content and sharing graphics for social media that support Best for Britain's campaign goals Manage the short-term and long-term social media content calendar Support the production of live events and streams Report on results and tailor content strategies based on findings Update the wider team on changes to the social media and digital campaigning landscape Assist with website content creation and management Write campaign materials such as emails to our supporters, petition text, calls to action and advertising copy Manage digital advertising campaigns that support Best for Britain's brand and specific areas of our work. Person Specification Essential A strong interest in politics and current affairs 1-2 years of hands-on agency or in-house experience managing social media platforms Experience producing digital campaigns adapted to different social platforms' specifications and audiences - organic and paid Able to create visuals and graphics for social media, e.g. in Photoshop or Illustrator Proficient in video content creation techniques and editing software such as Premiere Pro, Premiere Rush or Final Cut Pro Able to thoroughly research a topic, gain in-depth understanding and deliver insights to different audiences in an engaging way Outstanding attention to detail Affinity with Best for Britain's political aims and values Reliable, resilient and able to juggle multiple priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure campaign environment Eligible to work in the UK. Desirable Good knowledge and understanding of politics, current political issues, the different UK parties as well as their priorities, sensitivities and nuances Knowledge of EU institutions and wider geopolitics Experience in brand development and management Experience with website tools such as Nationbuilder, Wordpress or Squarespace Understanding of how a digital ad campaign should develop over time; ability to analyse results; and optimisation of assets and delivery for best performance Confident picking up new technology, techniques or software, learning how to use it and teaching others.
