We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual to join the Macmillan urology cancer nursing team as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Serving a population of over 930,000, the Trust's cancer activity is comparable to designated cancer centres. If you thrive on a challenge and feel you can make a real difference to the care of cancer patients, this post may be for you.
As a Urology Cancer CNS, you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring that patients with prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular malignancies receive the highest standard of care and support from the time of diagnosis and throughout the cancer pathway. Working in partnership with our specialist cancer providers, you will manage these patients across the pathways of care.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational skills and relevant post-registration experience. You will be required to have significant experience in this field of urology cancer nursing. We require someone who can work both autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills being essential. You must have RGN level 1 with appropriate post-registration qualification and post-registration experience. You should have a first degree or be working towards this qualification. With a drive for innovation, as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in developing nursing practice, particularly implementing service redesign to support the survivorship and rehabilitative aspect of cancer care as appropriate to the patient group. You will be supported by an extensive team of Macmillan CNS's who care for patients across all of the specialties. You will be based primarily at the Northwick Park Hospital site, which has excellent access to public transport, our own underground station, and close overground train links and many bus routes.
