Job Description Skills Alliance are partnering with a global pharmaceutical company during a period of significant change across their Global Operations Data Office. The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for the effective implementation of a range of data governance activities to protect the company data assets, so that they can be used with confidence to maximize value, while legal, ethical and security aspects are safeguarded. The role specializes in several of the following specialist areas: data governance strategy & operations, data standards management, data quality management, data policy, compliance & risk management. Key Accountabilities: Data Governance Strategy and Operations: Contributes to the development of functional Data Strategy including roles and responsibilities required to enable appropriate data governance across the functional area the role is aligned to. Contributes to the development of Data Governance frameworks, goals, and roadmap within the manufacturing area. Applies subject matter knowledge the functional area to effectively shape resolutions to complex queries and escalates any data governance demand from forums and stakeholders. Has visibility of and provide data governance consultancy to the major initiatives within the functional area where there’s data is critical to the success of the initiative. Reports and drives performance of data governance processes, standards, quality, and compliance within their various functions. Data Standards and Quality management: Works with experts across the functional area to define the Critical and Key Data Elements which needs to have standards and data quality metrics in place. Designs and implements data standards metrics to support and monitor progress against the Data Governance Framework. Significant contribution to the definition of data standards, including master data, reference data and metadata applying subject matter expertise. Collaborates with SMEs and Information Architects in a proactive way, to support the development of conceptual models, business glossary and ontologies. Data Asset stewardship and guidelines Manages the production of effective procedures to ensure that each data asset is governed throughout its lifetime within defined area of expertise Defines data flow requirements to ensure data flows produced across the organisation are transparent, consistent, approved, stored, and maintained. Works with Data Owners and stakeholders to maintain alignment to data quality and data governance standards, managing complex risks or issues within area of expertise. Improvement and Change: Develops processes to drive change and improvement activities relating to data literacy, culture and compliance, including development of communication, training and support. Develops and drives the implementation of the strategic initiatives related to Data Governance & Policy, including using Agile business roles for platform implementation and support Required Experience: Demonstrated experience and subject matter expertise within the data governance. Knowledge of standards, data management and IT management regulations, policies. Experience of inputting into strategy. Knowledge and experience with regulated and/or legal environment and requirements (e.g., GxP, data privacy and security) Experience of SAP ECC / S/4, SAP MDG, manufacturing systems and/or planning systems Experience of Data Governance tools such as MDG, RDM and MDM Experience of Data Product Governance and data cataloguing - Collibra Strong Stakeholder Management senior level Bachelor’s degree in business, data or technology discipline or equivalent number of years of experience This is will be an initial 11 month contract (likely to extend), under a hybrid working model (X3 days per week onsite, X2 days remote) based on Macclesfield site and with the option to be inside or outside IR35.
