A dedicated and experienced SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) is required to join an outstanding SEN school in Bournemouth. Your Role as SENCO:
* Lead and manage the SEN department, ensuring high-quality provision for all students with additional needs.
* Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.
* Oversee and contribute to the creation and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Provide training and guidance to teaching staff to ensure inclusive classroom practices.
* Liaise with parents, carers, and local authorities to ensure the best outcomes for students.
* Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEN support, making data-driven decisions to improve provision.
Who We’re Looking For:
* A qualified SENCO with the National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to obtain it).
* Experience working with students with a range of special educational needs, particularly in an SEN or mainstream setting.
* A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and best practices for inclusive education.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* The ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support students' academic and personal development.
* An Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
