Job summary We require a Principal Applied Psychologist to guide and supervise trainee psychiatrists during the short case psychotherapeutic interventions. This is often based on one-to-one CBT (12-20 sessions). Due to the small cohort of trainee psychiatrists we accommodate in our Trust the successful candidate will work 7.5 hours per week. Excellent competence of the CBT model is essential. Experience of working clinically across more than one specialty will be a distinctive advantage but not indispensable. We predict that remote working will be frequent although occasional working across multiple sites might be required at times. Main duties of the job To supervise approximately 6-8 trainees each year, for up to 20 sessions each. This supervision will not be carried out at the same time but will be spread across the year. Guide trainee psychiatrists in their development of the competences within psychotherapeutic interventions (e.g. provide guided reading for trainee psychiatrists). To guide Trainee Psychiatrists and ensure appropriate clinical governance is followed. This will include maintenance of supervision notes, supervisory contract, etc. To create a deliver a short training course in CBT that will be delivered when deemed necessary.
