As Data Manager you will oversee the entire lifecycle of data from acquisition and storage to analysis and dissemination ensuring that data assets are managed effectively, securely and in compliance with regulations and organisational policies. The difference you'll make: Creating requirements for build of data assets that are in line with all applicable policies, procedures and regulations for data management, as well as meeting business objectives Ensuring data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of data assets by identifying, mapping and analysing golden source data, ensuring suitable monitoring is in place to control data quality and implementing suitable change-controlled processes for updates Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide relevant data solutions and building relationships with data owners to ensure they understand their responsibilities around ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency and security of our data Overseeing and supporting the successful on-time delivery of data assets, ensuring this is in line with the agreed architecture and that efforts are prioritised based on the value of identified use-cases Ensuring data assets are clearly documented and understood by the end user community. Communicating new functionality, downtime, data issues and facilitating user feedback to continue to grow adoption and usefulness of assets over time Defining the roadmap for data assets, working closely with business stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic priorities, you will manage and prioritise the backlog of developments including new functionality and bug fixes. Overseeing these changes through delivery What you'll bring: These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role: Extensive Knowledge of Data Management and Governance regulations such as RDA, RRFF, GDPR Knowledge of the methodologies, tools and techniques for effective data governance and management and for identification of data management risks High degree of commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills. You will identify new opportunities to use data to solve business problems, and promote the capability to business stakeholders to gain their buy-in Project Management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and budget to achieve project objectives It would also be nice for you to have: Undergraduate Degree or equivalent in IT related field, or substantial work experience supported by professional certification /licences Knowledge of Information Architecture and Information Management (IM) methodology Experience in Financial / Budgetary responsibilities What else you need to know: This permanent role is based in either Unity Place - Milton Keynes or Glasgow. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
