The CDR team are looking to recruit a junior associate in to the Oxford office, for their busy and growing team. This position will involve working in the Restructuring & Insolvency Team, which forms part of the wider Commercial Dispute Resolution team. This role will be a mix of contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency work. The candidates will work in the Restructuring and Insolvency team, assisting more senior members of the team with a range of cases in terms of size and subject matter. The team have a varied and wide ranging practice in relation to both corporate entities and individuals. Technical knowledge of and familiarity with contentious and non-contentious insolvency and restructuring law, and a genuine enthusiasm for the practice area and how it will develop in the future. In particular an active interest in the currently developing caselaw. Some knowledge and experience of as much of the below as possible; administrations (appointment/trading issues/pre-packs etc) and floating charge issues; receiverships (appointment and management all the way to sale); members voluntary liquidations (advising all parties, representing IPs, strategic advice, the procedure itself and associated indemnity and early distribution issues) CVLs – procedure and advice to the company on strategy prior, creditor related issues, SIP2 investigations and conversion from MVL CVAs, Schemes of Arrangement and Part 26A restructuring plans – both acting for the company/IP and challenges by creditors All usual antecedent and directors duties/misfeasance actions (contentious and preventative) Disclaimer in liquidation Directors duties advice Knowledge of bankruptcy, and the post-bankruptcy issues that would be relevant to a trustee would be beneficial Comfortable working under pressure with the ability to plan and prioritise work and deliver to tight or changing deadlines whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail. A proactive and collaborative team member with a professional, user focussed approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well in partnership with lawyers and support staff, for the benefit of clients.
