Dartmouth is working with an emerging private equity firm focused on identifying and transforming high-potential businesses. We are looking for an experienced, results-driven Operations Director to play a key role in shaping the operational infrastructure that will support the companys continued growth and success.
As the Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm and implementing systems and strategies that optimize business performance. You will work closely with senior leadership to streamline processes, enhance operational efficiency, and drive the execution of business plans across portfolio companies. Your role will be critical in ensuring that our firm’s operations are scalable, resilient, and aligned with our long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Strategy: Develop and implement operational strategies, systems, and processes that support the firm’s growth and investment strategy.
* Process Optimization: Identify, analyze, and implement improvements in operational workflows to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
* Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of operational staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Project Management: Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives that ensure successful execution of investment strategies and portfolio management.
* Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Oversee relationships with external service providers, ensuring timely and cost-effective service delivery.
* Risk Management: Identify operational risks and work with senior leadership to develop strategies to mitigate them.
* Performance Metrics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational success and implement systems to track and report progress.
* Budget Management: Manage operational budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize profitability.
Qualifications:
* Experience: 6+ years of experience in operations, with a strong background in private equity, venture capital, or financial services.
* Leadership: Proven track record of leading operational teams and managing complex projects.
* Problem Solving: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
* Adaptability: Experience in high-growth, startup, or entrepreneurial environments.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
