Location: Norfolk
Working Hours/Pattern: 8:00am to 4:30pm (Mon to Fri)
Salary: Up to £70k, depending on experience
Job Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to take ownership of all quality assurance activities within a dynamic and fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for ensuring that all manufactured and externally sourced products meet strict quality standards and compliance requirements. You will oversee the Quality Management System (QMS), monitor performance metrics, drive continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, and maintain ISO 9001 and Part 21G accreditation. Additionally, this role requires strong leadership skills to manage and develop a team, ensuring best practices in quality control and assurance are upheld.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain quality procedures, standards, and specifications aligned with business strategy.
* Review and ensure customer requirements are consistently met.
* Collaborate with purchasing teams to establish and maintain supplier quality standards.
* Enforce quality standards in manufacturing and production processes, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and Part 21G accreditation (CAA).
* Oversee environmental and waste management best practices.
* Define and implement quality procedures alongside operational teams.
* Establish controls and documentation procedures to maintain process integrity.
* Utilize QMS/ERP systems to monitor performance, generate reports, and guide data-driven decision-making.
* Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices.
* Chair Continuous Improvement meetings, measure performance, identify weaknesses, and drive necessary improvements.
* Provide training, tools, and techniques to enable the wider team to achieve quality standards.
* Assess the effectiveness of implemented changes and refine strategies accordingly.
* Stay up to date with industry best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
* Manage and develop a Quality Engineer and Mechanical Inspector, ensuring a high-performance team.
Key Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment, particularly in prototype development.
* Strong engineering aptitude with a keen attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently.
* Exceptional client-facing and internal communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning software.
* Strong knowledge and application of ISO 9001 and regulatory compliance.
* Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement (CI), and Six Sigma methodologies.
* Leadership experience in managing and mentoring a team.
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
