Protocol Education is recruiting for Level 3 Teaching Assistants to work across our schools in Sunderland as SEND Support for students. If you are seeking a new challenge and have relevant experience or a relevant degree, this could be the role for you.
About the Role:
We are looking for individuals with initiative and a passion for supporting young people with barriers to learning. The role involves supporting students either 1:1 or as part of a classroom team, including managing behaviour, assisting with tasks, and helping students socialise and overcome social barriers. Some schools may require care due to children having profound and multiple learning difficulties, which can be discussed at interview.
The ideal candidate:
1. Background in education or a willingness to learn
2. Experience with children, either personal or professional
3. Experience managing challenging behaviour
4. Flexibility to travel between different school sites
5. Care background is preferable if you lack previous education experience
Team Teach or Moving and Handling training is preferred but not mandatory.

All pay rates include statutory holiday pay of 12.07%. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanent roles in the future.
