Finance Assistant up to £35k plus benefits Watford - hybrid working Fixed Term Contract: 6 months Reports to: Financial Controller Key Responsibilities: Our client is an international business with an office in Central Watford. This role is responsible for supporting the Finance and Operations teams to complete key projects and ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and accurately in a timely manner. Finance Operations: Clearing suspense accounts in close collaboration with finance operations and financial accountants Supporting on balance allocation, chasing un-reconciled items Reconciliation and review of intercompany balances Keeping track of achievement and escalating when needed Participating and implementing efficiencies and improvements Tax: PSA calculation and submission Supporting the team on roll-forward (as per rota) Finance administration: Administration of bank on-line portal and maintaining payment rota for the team Validating bank detail in accounting tool Setting-up supplier, broker and employee accounts in accounting tool Supporting on compliance requests on suppliers for finance department (KYS) Knowledge & Experience At least 5 years’ experience in accounting Qualification: AAT or studying Experience in reconciliation required, AP/AR preferred Excel proficiency and knowledge of accounting tools Skills & Competencies: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams in the UK & Ireland Energetic, self-reliant, and possessing a team-oriented mindset Clear and adaptable communication, ensuring effective messaging to different audiences Methodical approach, with excellent organizational, prioritization, and attention to detail Quick learner and self-starter, demonstrating a proactive attitude Highly numerate with strong attention to detail.
