An award-winning multidisciplinary practice is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join their growing team in their York office. The practice is known for delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across architecture, planning, and design, working on a diverse range of high-profile projects in sectors such as residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
About the Role:
Lead a variety of planning projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Provide expert planning advice and guidance to clients throughout the planning process.
Manage and mentor junior staff, fostering their development and providing support.
Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals, and Local Plan representations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including local authorities and partners.
Play an active role in business development, identifying new project opportunities.Responsibilities:
Lead planning projects, managing all aspects of the planning process.
Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and Local Plan representations.
Advise clients on planning strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
Mentor junior staff, providing guidance and development opportunities.
Manage relationships with clients, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
Contribute to the growth and expansion of the planning services offered by the practice.
Support business development efforts and help identify new project opportunities.The Ideal Candidate:
4+ years of experience as a Town Planner, ideally within a planning consultancy or similar environment.
Full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or working towards it.
Proven track record in leading planning projects and managing client relationships.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Experience managing and mentoring junior team members.
Strong knowledge of planning processes, policies, and regulations.
Proactive, with strong project management and problem-solving skills.What the Practice Offers:
