Salary: Scale 3, Points 5-6 (£24,790- £25,183 per annum, reduced proportionately for part-time hours Actual Salary- £21,295-£21,633.)
Contract: 37 hours a week. Term time only plus 5 training days. Temporary post (linked to Maternity)
Start Date: February 2025
Summerhill Primary Academy has an exciting opportunity to recruit a talented Parental Engagement Officer on a temporary basis to join the safeguarding and attendance team. You will be working closely with the Safeguarding Lead and senior staff within the school. Candidates will need to meet the requirements of the job description and person specification.
As a strong communicator, you will be responsible for working in partnership with parents/carers, offering support and coordinating a range of activities to establish good relationships between home and school. In this role you will have duties within the following areas:
* To work in partnership with parents/carers in supporting their involvement and cooperation with the school and to organize a broad range of activities to help ensure all families participate in their child’s school life.
* To maintain relevant knowledge and work closely with the existing support available to parents/carers and school staff within the local community.
* Carry out appropriate home visits along with the safeguarding team or SLT.
* To provide information about relevant local services available to parents/carers and their families.
* To encourage good relations through the development of informal contacts between home and school, providing one-to-one support for meetings.
* Commitment to promoting the ethos and values of the school and getting the best outcomes for all pupils.
* Commitment to acting with integrity, honesty, loyalty, and fairness to safeguard the assets, financial probity, and reputation of the school.
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritize effectively.
* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times.
* Commitment to safeguarding and equality.
