Job Description:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join Central Bedfordshire Council's modern and innovative team within the Highways Service. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated Integrated Transport Manager to support the delivery of the Highways Service and manage the Integrated Transport Team.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Traffic Management, demonstrate experience in managing traffic improvement and road safety schemes, and have a good understanding of highway and traffic legislation. Responsibilities include policy development, implementing traffic calming, accessibility, and road safety schemes, and assessing traffic impact using data-led approaches.
The role involves investigating requests for highway infrastructure improvements, assisting in developing the council’s annual and long-term schemes, and working with various stakeholders to ensure network management aligns with council priorities.
Qualifications required include a Level 5 award or equivalent, such as a diploma of higher education, foundation degree, HND, or professional qualifications like AAT or Chartered Institute of Planning and Surveying membership. The candidate should have strong analytical, policy-writing, and communication skills, and be capable of working in a complex environment.
