Locum Information Governance Lawyer – Remote Working with Occasional Office Attendance – £40 per hour Umbrella (Negotiable) Venn Group’s dedicated legal team is currently recruiting for an experienced Information Governance Lawyer to join a Midlands-based Local Authority on an initial 3-month assignment. This role is predominantly remote, with occasional office attendance desirable, and offers a competitive rate of up to £40 per hour (Umbrella), with potential flexibility for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: Drafting and advising on privacy notices, data governance issues, and ensuring compliance with data protection laws. Handling matters related to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), including liaising on compliance and enforcement actions. Managing the litigation aspect of information governance issues and representing the authority in tribunals. Overseeing data sharing agreements and providing guidance on complex information governance queries. Collaborating closely with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and leading on legal aspects of information governance compliance. Candidate Requirements: Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with demonstrable experience in information governance law. Strong understanding of data protection regulations, including GDPR, and experience liaising with the ICO. Ability to independently manage a broad and varied caseload within a public sector environment.
