Deputy Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) – Blackpool Council Location: Blackpool Pay Rate: £38.00 - £41.00 per hour Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week Duration: Initial 3 months (potential for extension) Blackpool Council is seeking an experienced Deputy LADO to support its Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) service. This is a vital safeguarding role, overseeing and managing allegations against professionals and volunteers working with children. Key Responsibilities: ✔ Supporting the LADO: Assist in the management of allegations against individuals working with children, ensuring cases are handled in line with statutory guidance. ✔ Multi-Agency Liaison: Work closely with social care teams, police, education providers, and other agencies to assess and manage safeguarding concerns. ✔ Case Management & Investigations: Oversee investigations into safeguarding concerns, ensuring robust risk management and compliance with policies. ✔ Advice & Guidance: Provide expert safeguarding advice to professionals and organisations across Blackpool. ✔ Quality Assurance: Ensure record-keeping and reporting meet the highest standards, contributing to service improvement. Requirements: ✅ 5 years’ experience in social work at a senior level (Senior Social Worker or above) ✅ Expertise in child protection and safeguarding procedures ✅ Strong decision-making and risk assessment skills ✅ Excellent communication and partnership working abilities ✅ Enhanced DBS for both the Child & Adult Workforce Why Join Blackpool Council?
