Working within the Chief Nursing Officers Workforce Development, Education and Training team to deliver through leadership and team working, the achievement of annual objectives Work with other PDNs in the WDET team to lead and take responsibility for the development of education programmes. Work in clinical practice with learners to support the assessment of competence, challenge practice as necessary and influence change through motivation and compassionate leadership, in alignment with evidence-based practice. Role model and share best practice, promote professionalism, uphold visibility and clinical credibility in practice. Collaborate with specialist teams to co-design, co-produce and co-evaluate programmes to ensure they meet the highest professional and clinical standards in collaborative partnership with Trust policy, guidance and all stakeholders. Be responsible for maintaining current and credible lesson plans, teaching resources, Google classrooms and competency documentation for all programmes delivered by WDET. Share and disseminate information to team and integrate key learning themes into education programme. Support the Clinical Skills Facilitators to achieve programme outcomes ensuring they are prepared to deliver course material and are always kept up to date with changes to the programmes and teaching materials. Monitor standardisation of teaching within WDET delivered Trust wide. Communicate with Ward Managers and Matrons to understand current clinical based practice learning requirements. Deliver teaching in both the classroom and clinical setting to meet programme objectives. Facilitate education programmes treating all learners with respect, considering equality, diversity, inclusion and individual learning requirements. Evaluate programme content and delivery, keep accurate records and adapt programmes as required in response to Trust changes and/or clinical incidents and priorities. Support and monitor compliance and standards in practice through audit, with the focused priority of maintaining patient safety. Manage and monitor attendance of education programmes on the Trust learning management system (ESR) via Business Intelligence reporting. Coordinate education programmes to ensure they are appropriately staffed and facilitated. Work with all stakeholders to ensure staff feel valued, supported and understand professional behaviours and standards. Network and engage with networks such as Practice Education Council to share and receive information. Maintain own clinical competence by working in clinical practice regularly and keep updated as per Trust policy and guidance. Work collaboratively with the WDET team and practitioners across EKHUFT to lead on projects that fulfil new service requirements. Manage our Clinical Skills Facilitators, taking into consideration health and wellbeing, appraisals and continuing professional development needs so that they may continue with career progression and development. Be responsible for own continual professional development. Report to the Lead Nurses for the Workforce Development, Education and Training Team. Potential future expectations of role to include the development of coaching through the use of a nursing model, such as CLIP, to transform practice learning for pre-registration nursing education. To collaboratively work with agreed stakeholders to increase quality and quantity of pre-registration practice placements.
