Job Purpose To be responsible in both assisting a senior fee earner in all aspects of litigated and non-litigated, claims with an emphasis on pain related conditions and running a case load of pain related cases. Key Duties & Responsibilities Deal with all aspects of litigated and non – litigated personal injury claims with a pain related condition. To hit KPIs relating to settlement, issue, billing and positive client reviews. Continuously risk assess a case as it progresses and highlight any concerns to your supervising fee earner/line manager to include having regard to liability, contributory negligence, causation and quantum. To immediately flag any concerns about the veracity of the claim or honesty of the client. To immediately review any kind of settlement offer and to update the system to reflect the nature, date and amount of offer. To take prompt instructions on any offer providing clear and unambiguous advice to your client. Have an excellent working knowledge of the CPR and/or and other relevant case law and/or legislation and to have an excellent working knowledge of OIC/RTA Portal process. To complete due diligence investigations to mitigate the risk of fraud throughout the case. To ensure clients are fully warned of the risks associated with fundamental dishonesty. To assist in identifying cases that are high risk to the firm. Experience & Knowledge Substantial experience running a litigated caseload or assisting with a serious injury case load. Candidates from a Defendant background with relevant experience will be considered. Excellent client care and analytical skills, to include providing written and oral advice in a clear concise manner. The ability to liaise and build up a rapport by using effective communication with all external agencies during the life of a claim including medical agencies, investigators, barristers etc Good IT skills with a sound working knowledge of VF or a similar case management system and essential MS Office knowledge. Be available out of normal office hours to speak to clients from time to time.
