An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior/Principal FPGA Engineer to join the Space Imaging Team in Chelmsford which provides performance CCD, Infrared and CMOS sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy, and high energy physics applications including the Hubble Telescope, Keplar, GAIA, Mars Rovers, New Horizons, and Rosetta to name but a few. Role Summary We’re seeking a Principal or Senior FPGA Compliance and Verification Engineer to join the Team. Working within a multi-disciplinary project team comprising of FPGA engineers, electrical hardware engineers, software engineers, and verification engineers, This Engineer will be the primary interface between the FPGA functional team and the Product Assurance team. Duties include: Drive FPGA development, verification and release processes in line with ECSS standards and requirements Ensure that all FPGA related documentation delivered to the customer meets ECSS standards. Review processes / source code reviews. Generate test plans and procedures to ensure that the deliveries meet all customer and internal requirements. Hands-on testing and verification of FPGA deliverables. Desirable Experience Knowledge of development standards used in Space, Aerospace, or Defence e.g. ECSS-Q-ST-60-03C and ECSS-E-ST-20-40C. Previous experience of FPGA compliance. Verifying robust high reliability coding. Developing FPGA verification and validation plans and quality assurance procedures. Experience with version control software such as subversion. Experience of requirements managements using software tools such as Jama. Experience with issue tracking software such as Redmine or Jira. Previous experience developing VHDL FPGA code and using FPGA simulation tools and UVVM testbenches. Experience writing verification and validation plans. Methodical approach to verification testing and recording of results.
