There’s always loads going on in your local city and you could help plan it all. As Events Management Assistant you’ll provide event and admin support to help deliver the citywide events programme and keep everything running smoothly.
What you’ll do
You are a source of everyday support to the wider events team, helping to satisfy the public, partners and stakeholders.
A typical day might include:
* Planning and delivering smaller events including drafting routine risk assessments.
* Supporting the senior team on larger events such as organising set-up or derigging.
* Providing overall business support for all team members including routine financial administration.
* Facilitating bookings or arranging licences for events. Raising purchase orders and sourcing suppliers.
* Collating and assessing documentation to help third party event organisers.
Who you are
A natural problem solver with excellent people skills and creative flair. You’ll be a confident communicator who likes meeting people and being busy.
Ideally you’ll have:
* 2 x GCSE or equivalent Grade A*–C (9-4) Mathematics and English.
* Understanding of planning and managing events.
* Understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
* Events experience, specifically working on outdoor events.
* Experience of providing administrative support in an office environment, using IT and Microsoft Office, and working in a team.
What we want
We need someone who can:
* Deliver safe and successful events that satisfy multiple parties.
* Ensure appropriate procedures are put in place to reduce risk.
* Use resources creatively to keep spend within departmental budgets.
* Keep accurate records and databases for events.
