This is a 10 PA locum appointment for a Consultant Clinical Oncologist, with a special interest in Breast cancer. This post will deliver 10 PAs supporting the breast radiotherapy and systemic therapy service. The post will support an established and experienced multi-disciplinary non-surgical Oncology Breast team and will be based at the Leeds Cancer Centre, St Jamess University Hospital. The successful candidate will work alongside the non-surgical Oncology breast team which is led by Dr David Jackson and is supported by Professor Chris Twelves, Professor Galina Velikova, Dr Shirin Namini, Dr Indu Chaudhuri, Dr Andrew Viggars, Dr Emma Thomas, Dr Emma Dugdale and Dr Keren OConnor. There will be opportunities to contribute to the central Leeds Breast MDTs and departmental meetings, as well as teaching, research and service developments. This is an exciting time to join our Breast Service as we are currently looking at pathway redesigns, in addition to developing the services and the wider team. Leeds Cancer Centre is one of the most prestigious oncology departments in the UK, providing an ideal infrastructure for high quality multidisciplinary cancer services and ensuring the best outcomes for the catchment population of West Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Cancer Network. OBJECTIVES OF THE POST To deliver care to patients with Breast cancers at the Leeds Cancer Centre, through: Out-patient clinics Supervision of patients Care of in-patients on a 1:5 rota Contribute to Specialist Multi-disciplinary team meetings To link with Consultant colleagues in other relevant site specialist teams within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and across the Yorkshire Cancer Network. To contribute to research, teaching, and new developments within the Leeds Cancer Centre. The post holder will be encouraged to facilitate and contribute to the current clinical research programs on going in the department.
