St Matthew's CE Primary School, Bowdon Street, Edgeley, Stockport SK3 9EA
Appointment of Headteacher
We are looking to appoint a motivated and successful leader to be the next Headteacher of our school. St Matthew’s is a welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive school where everyone is encouraged to live out our vision and ‘let their light shine’.
Our new Headteacher will have the highest ambitions for our children. They will be an excellent leader and a great communicator with a clear vision for high-quality Christian education. They will appreciate the benefits of working with a supportive team of staff, governors and parents. They will be committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of children, staff and the wider school community. As Headteacher, they will also enjoy working closely with other schools within the local area and the academy trust, learning from and sharing best practice.
St Matthew’s is a one form entry (with nursery) Church of England primary school situated in the Edgeley area of Stockport. The school serves a diverse community, and has strong links with both community groups and the parish. We are very proud of our ‘Good’ inspection judgement from Ofsted (June 2023) and the lovely report from our SIAMS inspection in February 2025. We can offer our new Headteacher a wonderful group of children and a hard-working and committed staff team, while we are also part of a successful and supportive multi-academy trust.
