A Maintenance Engineer, who will work as part of the facilities engineering team to support electrical maintenance in our properties, undertaking both reactive and planned works. Carrying out a full range of electrical maintenance duties to a high standard. Performing reactive and pre-planned maintenance activities. Supporting electrical compliance across our properties. Providing technical advice and support for all electrical systems. Carrying out elements of multi-skilled works as required. Carrying out fixed wire testing. Installing new electrical systems and equipment. Supporting the Facilities Manager with the development of processes and procedures. Supporting the delivery of contractor instructed works.
You will have experience working in varied buildings, with a hands-on approach to all electrical system maintenance, testing, and installation. You will need to evidence a strong knowledge of varied electrical equipment such as low voltage power, lighting systems, fire alarms, and CCTV. You will be experienced with health and safety processes and procedures and have the ability to apply them to all working tasks. You will be familiar with creating and completing all required maintenance documentation and updates on our electronic systems, including creating written job plans and technical reports. You will be required to support the department's on-call rota. This will include any pre-planned works and responding to equipment issues. Therefore, application of good fault finding and communication skills are essential.
Preferred Skills and Experience
1. Electrical installation or maintenance qualification such as City & Guilds 2330, BTEC National Certificate or equivalent.
2. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
3. City & Guilds - Testing and Inspection of Electrical Installations (2391-52).
4. Working knowledge of fire systems, CCTV, security systems, and lighting controls.
