Job Opportunity: Care Manager - Nursing Home

Contract Type: Full-Time (35 hours per week)
Salary: £39,000 per annum
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Care Manager to oversee the provision of exceptional care services at this well established Nursing Home. As Care Manager, you will ensure the delivery of person-centred care, uphold clinical governance, and manage a compassionate and professional nursing and care team. You will work closely with the General Manager to maintain our home's reputation for quality care, whilst also deputising for the General Manager during periods of absence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the nursing and care team, ensuring high standards of care for all residents.
2. Oversee the production and maintenance of personalised care plans, ensuring care reviews are conducted regularly.
3. Supervise and support Registered Nurses and care staff with professional development, appraisals, and training needs.
4. Maintain staffing rotas, ensuring safe and effective coverage within budget.
5. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including CQC inspections, safeguarding, and incident reporting.
6. Support with managing clinical supplies and maintaining cost-effective practices.
7. Deputise for the General Manager and take part in 'out-of-hours' on-call duties when required.
8. Promote a positive, homely atmosphere where residents' and families' needs are central.
9. Represent the home in external meetings and collaborate with relevant bodies, such as Birmingham County Council and Clinical Commissioning Groups.
Essential Skills & Experience
1. Must have a valid NMC PIN.
2. Proven experience in a senior care management role within a nursing home or similar setting.
3. Strong leadership and team management skills.
4. Knowledge of care standards, clinical governance, and CQC regulations.
5. Ability to provide training, mentorship, and support to care and nursing teams.
6. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage rotas and resources effectively.
7. A compassionate, professional, and proactive approach to care delivery.
