About BBC Media Operations
BBC Media Operations is at the heart of teams delivering incredible content across all our platforms for all audiences. Our team manages the craft and production operations for the BBC’s news, radio, and some sport services across London, Salford, and Birmingham.
Main Responsibilities
You’ll be required to provide technical production expertise for a wide range of productions, assuming the overall responsibility for the planning and realisation of sound operations for a production or event.
1. Plan and organise the technical, staffing, safety and logistical requirements for outside broadcasts.
2. Rig and de-rig outside broadcast equipment in a safe manner.
3. Set up and test communications, recording and broadcast systems.
4. Using audio craft skills, including balancing and editing, on Outside Broadcast productions.
5. Liaise with other organisations to agree and co-ordinate the provision of on-site facilities.
Are you the right candidate?
For this role you will be a self-starter, with a proven track record of managing your own time and supporting editorial staff.
Essential skills required:
1. Ability to constructively offer creative ideas in-line with relevant editorial priorities.
2. Experience in mixing both live and recorded radio programmes.
3. A good understanding of IP networking and its application to media delivery.
