Job Introduction
We're looking for a Social Media Executive to join our social media team within the BBC's Children's and Education department. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of social media knowledge and know how to engage an audience on vertical platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
This role will primarily promote CBeebies brands to a parent/carer audience on social media across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, using bespoke and commissioned social content to bring our programming and wider campaigns to new, underserved audiences and existing fans.
Main Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate fantastic creativity, wit, editorial judgement, and a strong track record in the production and delivery of social media campaigns on multiple platforms that engage and build online audiences.
You should have the ability to engage audiences, particularly creating bespoke content for parents and carers of children aged 0-6, understanding the different social platforms trends.
You will have excellent project management skills in relation to digital content creation and scheduling; experience of managing external suppliers, quality assurance, and experience of using audience insight and metrics to inform planning and decision making.
An in-depth appreciation of the risks involved in producing social media content for Children's & Education brands and campaigns, especially regarding brand values and safeguarding the vulnerable.
The ability to build and keep good stakeholder relations, whilst influencing and negotiating content from them to a desired quality, and reporting on the results of a campaign.

The ideal candidate will have a wealth of social media knowledge and know how to engage a parent/carer audience on vertical platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. They will be someone who lives and breathes social media and has professional experience using TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, keeping abreast of the latest trends, sounds, and influencers.
They will be experienced at creating content for social media and can generate stand-out, social-first ideas that make our audience take action and engage. They'll be a self-starter who can come up with unique ideas, shoot content, and produce first-class assets using software such as Adobe Premiere and Photoshop, along with in-app editing skills.
They will be a great communicator who can work with stakeholders to provide clear briefs, feedback, and results as well as a team player who wants to get stuck in, share knowledge and ideas, and take on a wealth of exciting projects and campaigns.
