Our client is looking to add an additional person to their team within the buying department. This is a junior position with future progression in time, but it still requires someone with purchasing experience; support and guidance will be given from the department.
You must have the below skills to be considered for the role:
1. Demonstrate a strong understanding of commercial principles, including cost negotiation.
2. Manage time efficiently and meet deadlines consistently.
3. Collect and analyse data to help predict trends and forecast sales figures.
4. Negotiate with suppliers to agree on prices, quantities, delivery schedules, and exclusivity deals.
5. Prepare and issue purchase orders following company policy.
6. Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
7. Manage supplier relationships, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
8. Proficient in Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
9. Relevant experience as a buying assistant/junior buyer or high-level administrator.
10. Strong understanding of procurement principles and best practices.
11. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
12. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Your hours will be 8am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
The pay rate is between £14 per hour based on your experience, qualifications, and abilities. A pay review will be made after a successful trial period.
This will be a permanent position with the completion of a 13-week trial period through us.
