Partnering with NHS Trusts, we provide a stepped-care mental health service within HMP Humber, supporting residents with mild to moderate mental health needs and promoting recovery, independence, and wellbeing. Our multidisciplinary team operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, providing holistic and high-quality care within the prison setting. About the Role As a Health and Wellbeing Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting residents at HMP Humber to manage their mental health and wellbeing. From delivering one-to-one coaching to facilitating group workshops and service user forums, your work will empower individuals to set goals, build confidence, and prepare for life after prison. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, prison staff, and other stakeholders to deliver person-centred support, reduce stigma, and promote recovery. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored mental health and wellbeing support to prison residents. Organise and facilitate group workshops, peer support sessions, and service user forums. Develop and distribute self-help materials and induction packs. Support the recruitment, training, and mentoring of Peer Mentors. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care planning. Promote co-production by involving residents in shaping services. Maintain accurate records on Rethink and prison systems. Identify and manage risks to ensure safety and quality of care. About You Essential Skills & Experience: Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs through one-to-one coaching and group facilitation. Strong organisational, communication, and active listening skills. Understanding of mental health and the ability to recognise signs of deterioration. Experience delivering recovery-focused services or education. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems. Ability to work collaboratively, flexibly, and inclusively, prioritising tasks effectively. Desirable: Experience working in prison settings or with individuals convicted of offences. Mental Health First Aid or similar health education qualification. Experience in co-production or working with marginalised communities.
