We’re looking for a dynamic Press and Communications Officer to join our Communications and Marketing team!
In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for professional media delivery and play a key part in distributing creative, well-planned communications campaigns. You’ll manage our press office and social media accounts, working closely with the corporate team to ensure we communicate effectively and positively with the public.
You’ll provide expert media advice, develop strategies to enhance our reputation, and handle everything from proactive campaigns to reactive media responses. Your work will focus on external communications, including impactful campaigns around housing, social justice, and value for money, helping to shift perceptions and inspire change.

About you
We are looking for someone who has experience of operating in a press office or media environment, and of developing and implementing effective media strategies, through creative communications, marketing strategies, campaigns and projects, including utilizing various channels of social media.
You’ll need to demonstrate you are able to negotiate, consult and influence key stakeholders and senior staff including councillors, providing professional advice securing support and commitment to a course of action or different way of thinking in order to achieve buy-in, and able to use those skills to present complex/sensitive information in a way that is clear for a range of audiences.
We do ask that you are qualified to degree level in marketing or communications (or equivalent relevant workplace experience), or recognised professional qualification in Media, Marketing, Public Relations and/or equivalent verifiable experience or training.
