Workshop Technician/Mechanical Fitter Location: Oxford Working Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday 08:00am – 16:30pm Salary: £25,000 - £33,000 We are currently seeking a Workshop Technician/Mechanical Fitter to join our client’s team. This role involves building and assembling all mechanical components on bespoke aircraft refuelling vehicles. Candidates with a background in plant engineering, ex-forces, HGV, or similar fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities of a Workshop Technician/Mechanical Fitter: Assemble and install mechanical components on custom-built aircraft refuelling vehicles. Use a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, grinders, and riveting equipment. Interpret engineering data, such as drawings and schematics. Perform basic fabrication tasks and adhere to safety protocols. Key Skills of a Workshop Technician/Mechanical Fitter: Experience in vehicle building (HGV experience preferred). Competence in using hand and power tools. Basic fabrication and Health & Safety knowledge. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Valid driving licence and access to a car. Highly Desirable Skills: Experience with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems. Welding (TIG/MIG). Supervisory experience. Previous experience with aircraft refuelling vehicles (advantageous).
