Job Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and high-quality PE lessons that cater to a wide range of abilities and inspire students to develop their physical skills.
2. Promote the importance of health, fitness, and a balanced lifestyle through a variety of sports and activities.
3. Plan and deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
4. Create an inclusive and motivating learning environment where all students feel encouraged and challenged.
5. Organize and lead extracurricular sports clubs, teams, and school events, fostering participation and a sense of community.
6. Track and assess student progress, providing feedback that helps students improve and achieve their potential.
7. Collaborate with other staff to support the wider school ethos and contribute to cross-curricular initiatives.
Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in physical education or a related field.
2. Experience teaching physical education at the secondary school level or equivalent.
3. Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum and current best practices in physical education.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
5. Enthusiasm for sports and the ability to inspire students to participate actively and enjoy physical activities.
6. Dedication to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among students.
7. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
8. Proactive approach to professional development, willing to learn and implement new teaching strategies.
9. Safeguarding and first aid qualifications (or willingness to obtain them).
