Job Purpose
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Team Manager to join us and support our extremely talented team of Social Workers in driving the service forward. You will lead and manage the performance of a team and foster a culture of continuous learning and reflection of practice that inspires staff to give their best in their roles. Croydon’s MASH is the ‘front door’ for all new referrals for children who may need early help support or children’s social care intervention, making important decisions about which services children need. We are the first contact many professionals, families, and members of the public have with Croydon, and as such, we want people to receive outstanding services from the start. We need a Team Manager who is experienced and passionate about leading the team towards achieving positive change for children and families.
Responsibilities
1. Qualified and registered Social Worker who is Social Work England registered.
2. Experience working in MASH (desirable).
3. Experienced in making assessments, implementing plans, and delivering interventions for children in the relevant service area of the child’s journey.
4. Experienced in leading and managing performance of a team of social workers, ensuring the cases are allocated effectively in terms of skills and experience suited to the complexity of the case.
5. Lead, direct, and motivate a team implementing and delivering change.
6. Ability to promote and develop good social work practice across a team.
7. Be confident and consistent in decision-making, and have the ability to apply national and local legislation and thresholds.
8. Work collaboratively with internal and multi-agency partners.
9. Make safe decisions under pressure.
10. Support audit activity and ensure learning is embedded in the service.
11. Be enthusiastic for change in promoting better ways of working with families and professionals.
12. Demonstrate a high level of personal accountability and commitment to social work practice development.
