Robert Half has partnered with a Capital Markets Firm based in central London in search of a Junior Operations Analyst (1+ year experience) to join the fast growing business.
The role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Operations Analyst to join the Operations team within a dynamic capital markets firm. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 1 year of experience in financial operations who wants to further their expertise in capital markets. The Junior Operations Analyst will support the day-to-day operational functions that are crucial for trade settlement, data integrity, and compliance across various asset classes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Trade Support and Reconciliation: Assist with the daily trade processing, ensuring that transactions are accurately recorded and settled. Perform reconciliations between trade systems and counterparties to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
* Data Management: Maintain accurate data records for trades, client portfolios, and pricing information. Review and update system data to support operations and compliance functions.
* Settlement and Clearing: Oversee the end-to-end settlement process for trades, ensuring timely and accurate completion. Work closely with counterparties, clearing agents, and custodians to resolve discrepancies.
* Reporting and Documentation: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operational metrics, trade status, and compliance. Ensure that all relevant documentation is maintained for auditing purposes.
* Client and Counterparty Liaison: Collaborate with clients, counterparties, and other teams to resolve operational issues promptly. Provide clear and professional communication in response to inquiries.
* Process Improvement: Identify areas for operational efficiencies and assist in implementing process improvements. Support the automation of routine tasks to enhance accuracy and reduce manual workload.
Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in an operations role within financial services.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field is preferred.
* Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Office applications.
* Ideally but not required experience with trade processing systems and financial software, such as Bloomberg, SWIFT, or Markit.
* Knowledge: Basic understanding of trade lifecycle, capital markets, and financial products (equities, fixed income, derivatives).
* Attributes: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
