What you'll do
Your key accountabilities will include:
* Manage and deliver a PNL (Profit and Loss) against the budget on sales, volume, profit and waste.
* Build a sourcing strategy for the category that delivers financially, protects and enhances quality and creates resilience within our supply chains. Set effective range strategies to optimise selling format and product choice, understanding space requirements, ensuring clear range and price architecture.
* Build fruitful supplier partnerships through category strategy plans and well-constructed and managed JBPs (Joint Business Plans).
* Actively search for must-have innovation whether product or variety.
* Be able to breakdown product costs including the impact of currency, logistics, cost of labour, packhouse efficiency, production efficiency and overheads.

Your skills and experience will include:
* Relevant buying experience with an interest in the category.
* A real passion for retail, able to work at pace in a commercial environment.
* A confident decision maker with strong communication and influencing skills.
* An analytical approach, able to use customer information to seize commercial opportunities.
* A team focus, able to build positive relationships within the Food Group and Suppliers.
