Job Description A fantastic leading engineering solutions provider specialising in the design, manufacture, and service of innovative machinery and equipment, are looking for a good Field service/Fitting Engineer to join their team in the Scarborough area as part of their continued growth. Known for their precision and commitment to quality, they work with clients globally to deliver exceptional engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities: Service: Respond to equipment breakdowns within 24 hours of notification. Perform installations, commissioning, maintenance and customer training globally. Conduct equipment repairs and servicing both in the UK and overseas. Provide technical telephone support to customers when needed. Maintain accurate documentation, including timesheets, service records, and expense reports. Fitting: Assemble machinery and press tooling to high specifications using engineering drawings. Test equipment in-house before dispatch to ensure quality. Provide feedback to design teams for continuous improvement. Attend project meetings and work collaboratively to meet deadlines. General Duties: Operate tool-room machinery (e.g., turning, grinding, milling) as required. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations both on-site and in-house. Work flexibly to support production goals and meet business objectives. What We’re Looking For: Essential Skills & Qualifications: Time-served Fitter or Tool-room Fitter. ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. General welding and manual machining experience. Desirable: Forklift and Overhead Crane License. Core Attributes: Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Flexible and professional, with a willingness to travel and work overtime when needed.
