You will provide a confidential, efficient and responsive service for patients in accordance with National, Trust and Departmental Guidelines, policies and procedures, making appointments, directing enquiries and managing the patient pathway from referral to results using specialist software and hospital systems.
Main duties of the job
* Act as first point of contact for patients and team members, using initiative to resolve enquiries in a professional manner, providing accurate information or redirecting calls/voicemails as appropriate to ensure they are responded to in a timely and effective manner.
* Work independently to achieve deadlines through the prioritisation of daily tasks ensuring that targets are met.
* Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the Bowel Cancer Screening Team inbox, processing confidential patient sensitive documentation: responding to team members requests to compose, type and print correspondence as necessary.

Person Specification
Qualifications and training
* Computer literate including Word and Excel and use of software packages
* GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent.
Skills and experience
* Good interpersonal skills e.g. interact with patients, staff colleagues and clients courteously and professionally.
* Experience of working for and within a team for more than 12 months.
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
* Ability to remain calm in a busy environment whilst working under pressure
* Ability to undertake surveys and audits as necessary to your own work
* Ability to use own initiative.
* Adaptable
* Knowledge of Patient Pathways and cancer targets
* Able to prioritise own workload and workloads of others

* The post holder will have access to confidential information, it is imperative that the post holder follows the Trust Data Protection Policy at all times
Personal/professional attributes
* Previous experience of working within a busy environment
* Data protection and confidentiality.
* Previous NHS knowledge
