Excellent opportunity for a Concrete Quantity Surveyor / Project Co-ordinator to join a well-established company based in Sheffield.
Salary range: £29,000 to £32,000 depending upon experience.
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8.30-5.00, Fri 8.30 – 3.45, Lunch 45 minutes.
We are pleased to announce that an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client’s Concrete team as a Quantity Surveyor / Project Co-ordinator. This is an ideal position for the right person to join their dynamic, forward-thinking company, who specialise in floor layout design, distribution, and installation of steel floor decking systems and concrete throughout the United Kingdom. You will be based in their modern offices in Dinnington, Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
Role / Responsibilities:
1. Collate and process all commercial information for concrete projects.
2. Produce slab measure and phase breakdown information for material requirements for concrete projects.
3. Liaise with the contracts team and record project installation completion, project issues, change control process, and produce reports where required.
4. Assist in the pricing and submission of variations to contracted operations.
5. Manage and update the concrete installation and materials schedule to assist planning and project reporting.
6. Process sub-contractor and supplier invoices in liaison with the Concrete Division Manager.
7. Liaise with Contracts Managers in ensuring project materials and resources are coordinated to programme requirements.
Candidate Profile:
1. General knowledge of construction operations and practices is required.
2. Good numeracy and literacy skills and experience are required.
3. Confident IT skills, including Microsoft applications (in particular Excel) and measuring applications are required.
4. Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and programming is required.
5. Experience of working in a commercial or accounting environment related to the construction industry is preferred.
6. Evidence of learning or qualifications related to commercial or construction practices is preferred.
7. Knowledge of concrete practices, products, and science preferred, but not necessary.
8. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a small team will be important.
9. Analytical thinking and a problem-solving approach would be advantageous.
