The Patient Safety Incident Response Lead has a unique and varied role. The post holder will take the lead in investigating and reviewing safety events on behalf of the Trust and will support patients, families, and colleagues through the processes of investigations. The post holder will also be responsible for coordinating thematic reviews and learning from safety events. The post holder will ensure all documentation/report is appropriately completed by colleagues and will facilitate After Action Reviews. The post holder will be highly skilled in the development of patient safety investigation reports and will be a key driver of Trust-wide safety initiatives.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver Quality, Safety, and Assurance standards and lead on aspects of HDFT's Quality Commitment.
* Work in an effective matrix style as part of a dynamic team in delivering effective quality and safety initiatives and assurance systems in the Trust.
* Support the delivery of the quality objectives in the Trust's Strategy.
* Deputise for the Head of Quality & Legal on Quality and Safety matters, supporting the delivery of key objectives and strategic goals driving quality assurance and improvement.
* Be one of the formal named lead Patient Safety Specialists in the organization, leading or directly supporting patient safety improvement activity, ensuring that systems thinking, human factors understanding, and just culture principles are embedded in all patient safety processes across HDFT.
