We are looking for a motivated Band 5 who has a wealth of surgical knowledge and who is looking to contribute to improving patients’ journeys.
Your role on SRU is to ensure that patients are welcomed and managed in a safe and timely manner, receive the tests and scans that they require, and move through the hospital to an appropriate location. Ensuring that the team is supported throughout the shift and managing any issues or concerns as they arise.
SRU is a friendly and supportive place to work with a very fast pace due to taking emergency admissions and having many patients pass through the unit 7 days a week. We are looking for an experienced Band 5 Registered Nurse to join the team, who has an interest in emergency general surgery.
The shifts are days, twilights, and nights, and you will be expected to work a mixture. A passion for the delivery of high-quality care is essential for supporting the patients who pass through the unit. As a Band 5 registered nurse, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will need the ability to manage the clinical area efficiently and effectively and show an understanding of how to effectively look after acutely unwell patients.
The ability to contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of local objectives and action plans is essential. An ability to make decisions quickly and perform well under pressure is an essential part of the role.
As a Registered Nurse with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, you will be working together as part of a multidisciplinary, professional team to assess care needs, and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care. Our staff are committed to providing high standards of individualised care for the people who use our services, whilst maintaining their privacy and dignity at all times.
