Physiotherapy Assistant - Inpatient Acute Medicine Full Time
Band 2 (with progression supported to band 3 on completion of internal competencies)
Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00 (30 min lunch break)
We have an exciting opportunity for a suitable candidate to join our inpatient acute medical team. The role involves working with and rehabilitating patients who have been admitted for an acute deterioration in their function due to an acute or exacerbation of a chronic medical condition, including falls. Rehabilitation is provided in the hospital setting and requires planning to support patients for discharge home or ongoing rehabilitation in the community.
All relevant training will be provided to understand how to assess a patient, prescribe exercises, issue equipment, and document notes. There will be opportunities for voluntary weekend work in inpatient orthopaedics. However, the job description includes a 7-day working note as the service may be consulted to cover weekends.

Candidates
Essential Experience Required:
* Good written and spoken English and experience working with the general public.
* Some experience working with individuals with disabilities; previous NHS experience is helpful.
* Demonstrated good communication skills and the ability to prioritise work.
* Computer skills are essential - training in local systems will be provided.

Salary: £24,873 a year including fringe HCAS per annum pro rata.
