If successful you will be involved with a wide multi-disciplinary team caring on inpatient wards for Adult Inpatients.
You will care for your patients holistically, involving carers and relatives and work alongside medical and therapies staff. You will be able to adapt quickly to changing situations and provide high quality care to your patients.

Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse you will be responsible for the day to day running of shifts, medicine management, attending MDTs, ward reviews, liaising with other agencies, and primarily supporting service users with their recovery journey.
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and caring individual who has a strong desire to work with service users in a recovery focused manner. We support newly qualified Nurses/practitioners to attend the Newly Qualified Academy as part of preceptor-ship.
At Northgate you will have the opportunity to work independently, but we come together by sharing our knowledge learnt and respecting each other by communicating effectively. We encourage staff to develop within lead and link roles within a particular area of interest, just let the Northgate team know which areas you are invested in, and we can support you. Job responsibilities
As a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse you will be responsible for the day to day running of shifts, medicine management, attending MDTs, ward reviews, liaising with other agencies, and primarily supporting service users with their recovery journey.
You will have named nurse responsibility and be expected to work alongside your named patient to support their recovery goals, with the support of the team around you.
You will be responsible for appropriate time keeping, taking handovers, reporting and identifying any risks, improvements or changes in relation to the individuals you support.
You will be expected to work as part of a team, taking part in team meetings, safety huddles, and training. You will have responsibility in relation to effective and best practice regarding safe management of medications, and holding the medications keys.
Your role will include up to date record keeping, care planning, recovery planning, and information sharing where appropriate.
You will also get to spend 1:1 time with the individuals we support, and at times their families and carers, in working collaboratively to develop a recovery pathway.
**This post attracts a recruitment premium of £3,000 (pro-rata for part time roles). This is a one off payment with half paid on appointment and half paid after the completion of a satisfactory probation period (6 months). The premium is taxable. Please note that should you leave employment, or choose to move to an alternative post within the Trust that does not attract this recruitment premium, you will be required to reimburse all or some it, as follows: 100% of the value of the premium in the first 12 months 50% of the value of the premium in the period 12 months to 2 years following appointment.
