This Secondary school based in the heart of Cardiff is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals with a passion for supporting students with Autism to join our team. We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic and passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to work as a Teaching Assistant in our specialised ASD Base. As part of our inclusive and nurturing school environment, you will play a key role in helping students with ASD access education, achieve their personal goals and thrive in a supportive setting. Working alongside our experienced staff, you will provide tailored support that enables students to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ASD.
2. Assist with classroom activities, ensuring all students are fully engaged and supported in their learning.
3. Support students in developing independence, social skills and emotional resilience through personalised guidance and encouragement.
4. Develop strong relationships with students, promoting their academic, social and emotional growth.
Requirements:
1. Experience supporting children with ASD or SEND is highly desirable.
2. Patient, reliable and adaptable with a caring, supportive attitude.
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with school staff.
4. Capable of managing and supporting students with challenging behaviour in a calm, positive, and proactive manner.

Additional Information:
1. Hours: 8:30am – 3:00pm.
2. Roles: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
3. Pay: £12.83 - £15 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
4. This role is initially temporary with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
