Overview
We are seeking a skilled Dental Nurse to join our dental practice in providing high-quality care to our patients. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for patient care.
Responsibilities:
1. You'll be responsible for preparing and maintaining the clinical environment, ensuring all equipment is ready and in optimal condition.
2. You'll implement strict infection prevention and control procedures to prevent any physical, chemical, or microbiological contamination within the surgery or laboratory.
3. You will accurately record dental charting and oral tissue assessments as carried out by other registrants.
4. You will prepare, mix, and handle dental biomaterials with precision.
5. During treatments, you'll provide essential chairside support to the operator, ensuring smooth and efficient procedures.
6. It's crucial that you maintain full, accurate, and up-to-date patient records at all times.
7. You will prepare equipment, materials, and patients for dental radiography, ensuring everything is set up for successful imaging.
8. You will also process dental radiographs with attention to detail.
9. Monitoring, supporting, and reassuring patients throughout their treatment will be a key part of your role.
10. You'll provide patients with appropriate advice, ensuring they leave the practice well-informed.
11. In the event of a medical emergency, you will support the patient and your colleagues effectively.
12. You'll be responsible for making appropriate referrals to other health professionals when necessary.
13. When needed, you'll step in as the practice receptionist, managing calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
What You'll Need:
1. You should have excellent communication skills, enabling you to interact effectively with both patients and colleagues.
2. Strong organisational abilities are essential, as you’ll need to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
3. Proficiency in IT systems is crucial for maintaining accurate digital records and ensuring smooth practice operations.
4. Prior experience working as a qualified dental nurse is important, as it will allow you to hit the ground running and contribute to our team from day one.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 14 per week
