About our client
The Academy is set on the outskirts of the vibrant city of Brighton, next door to Falmer station and to Brighton and Hove Albion’s AMEX Stadium. Situated close to the A27, the school has good road and rail transport links. Close to country, city and seaside, the context for this is rich and diverse with many opportunities to engage with the community and build cultural capital for students.
In addition to all there is to offer in the local area, they are proud to host the Sir Rod Aldridge Cricket Centre and runs both a junior pathway for cricket entrants and a cricket pathway through sixth form. The Academy estates are new with its current buildings opened in 2011.

Job Description
Overall Purpose of the Role:
To be responsible for managing the Maths Department.
To liaise with SLT, HODs, HOYs, SENDCO, subject staff, support staff.
To strategically plan for the development of the following areas demonstrating impact of these on learning and progress of pupils.
To narrow the gaps in the achievement of all groups of learners through:
* Securing high quality teaching which directly impacts upon pupil progress
* Curriculums which facilitate the progress of all learners
* Ensuring responsive interventions across your subject
* To work with other colleagues to maximise positive work ethic and a love of learning for your subjects
