OVERALL ROLE PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Operative will be responsible for picking / packing orders and controlling stock. The role will also involve the unpacking and inspection of orders and supporting the Purchasing and Logistics teams with both incoming goods and goods out.
J&C Joel’s Warehouse is in many ways is unique, as the style of good inwards and outwards varies greatly. This can be challenging, however can also prove to be exciting and rewarding as no two days are the same. This also opens up opportunities for the Operative to gain experience within a number of areas and activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
* Despatching customer orders;
* Picking and packing of orders for deliveries;
* Following necessary policies, practices and procedures;
* Keeping stock up to date;
* Stock control, stock takes and cycle counts.
* Preparing overseas shipments.
* Ensuring overnight carriers are away on time to meet their deadlines;
* Off loading large containers and incoming deliveries;
* Carrying out inspections of incoming orders for quality issues;
* Keeping work area clean and tidy;
* Maintaining a high level of H&S standards;
* Carrying out any other ad hoc duties as instructed by line management.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
* Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
* Fork lift Truck License
* Driving License
* Adaptable and flexible approach to working hours.
* Experience with fabric/roll handling and manual lifting.
* Positive and can-do attitude.
* Good command of English speaking, writing, and reading.
* Both numeracy and literacy skills at a good level
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of two years warehouse experience
