We are looking for a Temporary Deputy Home Manager who will support the manager to ensure the smooth running of the service complying with relevant regulations and procedures. This is a temporary post for 3 months, requiring 36 hours of work per week across 7 days, including every other weekend, and participation in the on-call rota.
Shifts include:
* 8am-2pm
* 2pm-8pm
* 8am-8pm
* 8pm-8am
Responsibilities include:
* Work on the floor for 30 hours per week (may change based on home needs)
* Assist the home manager with governance tasks such as audits (6 hours per week)
* Share on-call responsibilities, which may require coming in to cover a shift (paid for covering)
* Work at least two 6-hour shifts every other weekend
* Collaborate with the Registered Manager and staff to ensure effective implementation of standards and policies
* Communicate clearly with staff, families, and professionals to ensure optimal resident care
* Ensure all staff receive regular supervision and adhere to policies and procedures
* Monitor resident care plans to identify and update physical, social, and emotional needs
* Assess new residents for admission any day of the week
* Engage with the home's Facebook page and oversee activity postings
* Work towards achieving an outstanding rating for the home
Applicant Criteria:
* Minimum 1 year as a Deputy Manager is essential
* NVQ Level 3/Diploma in Adult Workforce Level 3, preferably Level 5
* Excellent communication skills
* A can-do attitude and desire to improve the home to the highest level
* Good planning skills
* Commitment to professional and personal development
* Clean driving license - desirable but not essential
