Job summary We are looking for a dynamic, confident practitioner to join our highly regarded APP team. You should be a forward-thinking practitioner, who has the ability to bring about change and the desire to develop and improve services. You must be an experienced MSK clinician with an interest and expertise in the management of patients with spinal pathology. You should be able to work independently and be able to demonstrate excellent communication, teaching and organisational skills. Previous applicants need not to apply The successful candidate would work in a different spinal clinics alongside Spinal Orthopaedic Consultants and independently offering both face to face and telephone consultations. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills working with our experienced spinal MDT, the team includes spinal orthopaedic consultants, APPs and radiologists who meet regularly. Supervision, training and mentoring will be provided by our other APPs and consultant colleagues. Our current vacancy is for a 12 month fixed term contract for 24 hours per week (4 clinics and administration time associated with the clinics). The clinics are currently in Ascot, Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor. Main duties of the job To provide an expert musculoskeletal assessment, diagnosis and appropriate onward management of patients presenting with chronic and acute spinal pain within the orthopaedic clinics. To use skills extended beyond the scope of physiotherapy to aid diagnosis and development of treatment plans in the orthopaedic clinic setting. To interpret the results of the assessment and investigations to determine onward patient management e.g. organise appropriate injection therapy, discuss any appropriate surgical interventions and place patients on the waiting lists when appropriate, make appropriate onward referrals to rehabilitation/Consultants/clinics and discharge patients directly from clinic. To electronically triage GP referrals into the Orthopaedic Spinal service. To provide expert advice, guidance and information to patients, health professionals.
