The Workshop Foreman/Chargehand is responsible for the smooth running of the Workshop, overseeing the Technician team, ensuring key performance indicators are achieved, whilst maintaining positive relationships with our customers.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 14:00-22:00, with a 30-minute paid break
Essential duties and responsibilities:
* Manage all staff, including monitoring of timekeeping and productivity, authorising overtime, and identifying training needs
* Ensure a high quality of customer service is always delivered
* Establish a close working relationship with all departments
* Deal with queries in an effective manner ensuring all actions are met
* Assist in training and development programs for all department staff
* Maximise the profitability of both parts and service departments, including continual improvements in utilisation of staff and efficiency of organisation
* The ability to lead a large and diverse team
* Access, produce and follow up all quotations for all types of equipment
* Control and maintain departmental parts stock levels
* Contribute to the development of all operating and administrative systems to ensure that quality, efficient and timely work is carried out
* Remain up to date with all relevant legal requirements
* Achieve and strive to exceed customer service level expectations and agreements
* Ensure premises and company vehicles are maintained to a high standard
* Any other duties relevant to the smooth and efficient operation of the department as determined by your manager
Candidate requirements:
To perform this role successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
* Technical Qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Qualified Technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles
* Current driving licence
* Autoline 8.35 use
* Supervisory or management experience
* LGV/HGV licence
